OPERATING SPEED (RPM)

Speed (rpm) of grinding and cutting discs.

For a safe use of the abrasive product, it is essential to follow the directions below:

-use an abrasive product suitable for the material to be worked;
-use an abrasive product suitable for the speed shown on the machine plate;
-check that the operating speed is lower than/equal to that shown on the abrasive product;
-mount the abrasive product in the correct way on the machine.

Type 28 abrasive wheels
Type 42 abrasive wheels

Table of correspondence peripheral speed/rpm/diameter
The table below is used to establish the maximum speed in RPM (in blue colour) according to the wheel diameter and speed in m/s written on the wheel. The speed calculated (RPM) is the maximum operating speed of the abrasive product and represents the maximum speed limit that never has to be exceeded.

WARNING:
always check the maximum speed on the angle grinder’s plate.

Rotation speed (RPM) = [60000 x peripheral speed (m/s)]/[ π x diameter (mm)]
Peripheral speed (m/s) = [π x diameter (mm) x rotation speed (rpm)] / 60000
