Bonded abrasives
Before buying grinding wheels, cutting discs or any other abrasive product, it is recommended to get information about the particular
type of discs to be used for the work to be carried out.
Choosing the most suitable product for working, decreases risks and avoids wrong behaviours of the user. The use of the product is
allowed ONLY for the working for which it has been conceived and it is FORBIDDEN to use it outside its specific application.
For a safe use of the abrasive product, it is essential to follow the directions below:
– use an abrasive product suitable for the material to be worked;
– use an abrasive product suitable for the machine;
– check that the operating speed is < than the one shown on the abrasive product’s label;
– mount the abrasive product in the correct way on the machine;
– choose the shape (type) suitable for the machine and the type of operation to be carried out.
Below is a presentation of bonded wheels manufactured by I.A.P. Globe.
Type 1: flat wheel.
For front grinding. The arrow shows the contact point that the wheel has to keep with the material worked.
Type 27: depressed center wheel.
For grinding with portable machines.
Type 28: conical depressed center wheel.
For grinding with portable machines.
Type 29: semi-flexible, depressed center wheel.
For grinding with portable machines.
Type 41: flat cutting wheel.
For cutting with hand-held machines, portable and stationary machines.
Type 42: depressed center cutting wheel.
For cutting with hand-held machines, portable and stationary machines.
